Welcome to the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Â鶹´«Ã½. Accredited by the engineering accreditation commission of , the ECE department offers baccalaureate degree programs in both Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering. The Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering degree offers two majors: Computer Engineering major and Modeling & Simulation Engineering major. The programs are taught on campus, and the computer engineering majors are available to distance learning students. More information about these programs is found at .
Students in each program get to select technical electives and they can choose them to form an area of specialization.

- Data Analytics Engineering
For Electrical Engineering majors, specialization areas include:

Many ECE students take advantage of internships and undergraduate research opportunities available to them. These experiences, together with our hands-on and problem-solving curriculum, help them develop the critical thinking skills needed to be successful practicing engineering professionals.
The department offers graduate degrees with concentrations in ECE, Biomedical Engineering (BME), and Modeling & Simulation (MSIM). The degrees include
- Master of Science (MS)
- Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)
- Doctor of Engineering (D.Eng.)
The BME program also offers a Master of Engineering degree.
In addition to strong academic programs, the ECE department has a proven record of accomplishment in funded research and scholarly works. The department consistently ranks in the top 25 percent in research expenditures among all U.S. schools ranked by National Science Foundation (NSF). It is home to the Applied Research Center (ARC) wherein our faculty are engaged in cutting-edge research on materials and devices. The department has strong ties to the world-renowned Frank Reidy Center for Bioelectrics (CBE), where ECE faculty are working on innovative ways to use pulsed electric fields and low-temperature atmospheric-pressure plasma to develop innovative medical therapies. BME and ECE faculty are also developing new regenerative medicine techniques and biomaterials, biosensor and bioelectronic devices.
