The Motor Behavior Laboratory is a multi-purpose room that is used for assessment and training research as well as a resource area to complement undergraduate and graduate health and physical education courses when teaching specific motor behavior topics.

Oral Preschool Program

The Oral Preschool Program is a Norfolk Public Schools program provided in partnership with Â鶹´«Ã½. It offers a unique educational setting and services for young children with hearing loss. Within a small, specialized class, children with hearing loss are taught to communicate successfully using spoken language.

Park, Recreation & Tourism Studies Lab

The mission of the Park, Recreation, and Tourism Studies Lab is to facilitate regional, national, and international research and community engagement opportunities through applied research, experiential learning, and evidence-based programming. The PRTS Lab is located in the Student Recreation Center, Room 1009, and is the base camp for research in tourism, park and protected area management, youth development, recreational therapy, and outdoor recreation and education.

The lab is also outfitted with adaptive and outdoor recreation equipment, as well as group development resources, to allow faculty and students to engage with the community through a wide variety of projects in the Hampton Roads region. Undergraduate students and graduate assistants use the lab to develop knowledge and skills in field-based research, recreational therapy, group leadership, positive youth development and wilderness medicine.
