The Cardiometabolic Laboratory is located in the Student Recreation Center and a part of the College of Health Sciences. Our laboratory investigates the impact of physical activity or inactivity on cardiometabolic health in humans. We have multiple ongoing projects in healthy young subjects, older adults, and pregnant women.
The HPL improves the scientific understanding of human movement using physiological measurement tools. We teach students why and how to use these tools in clinical and practical settings. We also provide a regional community resource for body composition and other physiologic testing.
The Neuromechanics Laboratory is used to perform interdisciplinary research involving neuromuscular biomechanics. Research studies questions relating to biomechanics and neuromuscular control using a combination of approaches involving kinetic, kinematic, and electromyographic analyses.
