Biology | Class of 1990
How has being a Biology graduate from Â鶹´«Ã½ helped shape your professional success?
"It was the single most important stepping stone. If it wasn't for Â鶹´«Ã½, the scholarship, the Honors College, my mentors, the capacity provided for growth, I would not have gotten an interview at Cornell University Medical College, and from there an internship and residency in Urology at the Cleveland Clinic, and then this amazing opportunity in Houston. My professors taught fundamentals of Biology with passion and sense of purpose, all the while helping us develop critical thinking and not losing their sense of wonder at the natural world."
What advice would you give to current Monarchs in Biology?
"You have the potential to do as well or better than going to an Ivy League school. It still provides that personal touch but in the context of a world class institution with outstanding programs on a beautiful campus."
