Opera/Musical Theatre Workshop

Auditions

The audition information for upcoming productions is posted on the vocal area bulletin board in the Diehn Center for the Performing Arts. Contact Dr. Brian Nedvin for additional information.

Old Dominion Opera/Musical Theatre Workshop is a quickly growing musical entity with a mission to

educate and entertain. Productions in both the operatic and musical theatre genres, as well as scene programs, will help students to develop additional skills necessary to perform and teach these genres. Regardless of major, all students are challenged to create outstanding productions.

Recent Productions

In fall 2013, the Music and Theatre departments joined forces to produce The Mystery of Edwin Drood by Rupert Holmes, presented in the newly constructed Goode Theatre. Photos can be found at on the .

Spring 2014 featured a scenes program that challenged students in multiple ways. From the Act I duet from Il barbiere di Siviglia (Rossini) between Count Almaviva and Figaro to "O mio babbino caro" from Gianni Schicchi (Puccini), every student was challenged in a way that would help them grow, both as performers and teachers.
