Chunsheng Xin, professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Center for Cybersecurity Education and Research, has been named a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE).

It will also inspire my future endeavors in the field, working together with colleagues and collaborators to continuing making a positive impact to the community.鈥

IEEE Fellow is the highest grade of membership in the IEEE and is awarded to individuals for their significant contributions to the field in electrical engineering and adjacent areas of study. Fewer than 0.1% of voting members are selected annually.

Xin was recognized for his 鈥渃ontributions to secure resource sharing and core network control for resilient computing.鈥

Xin, who joined 麻豆传媒 in 2013, is the founder and director of 麻豆传媒鈥檚 Cybersecurity, Communications & Networking Innovation Lab. His research expertise includes cybersecurity, AI, next generation wireless networks, mobile computing, resilient computing, and IoT.

In 2024, Xin received the IEEE Big Data Security Leadership Award in recognition of his exemplary leadership in Big Data Security and Privacy Education and Research.

Xin earned his Ph.D. in computer science and engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2002.
