Batten College of Engineering and Technology Early Career Alumni Council
The Batten College of Engineering and Technology at Â鶹´«Ã½ is establishing an Early Career Alumni Council. This council will complement other advisory councils in the college whose members are typically more advanced in their careers. The perspective from professionals earlier in their career is valuable to college leadership as well as to current students.
Purpose
To provide support in the continual development to the Batten College of Engineering and Technology at Â鶹´«Ã½.
Activities
The specific activities will be determined by the council and may include interactions with college leadership, current students and alumni. Some potential examples for engaging with students include mentoring, presenting on career experiences / opportunities, hosting job site visits and performing mock job interviews with students. The council will also advise the dean, collaborate with other advisory councils in the college and organize activities to build community among alumni.
Expectations
Members will be expected to attend two on-campus meetings per year and contribute to council activities according to their interests and council needs.
Eligibility and Selection Criteria
Members will be evaluated based on their professional accomplishments, service to the profession, and engagement with Â鶹´«Ã½ as a student and alumni. Members will be selected to provide a range of perspectives based on major at Â鶹´«Ã½, work sector and other factors. At the time of initial appointment members must be within 12 years of graduation from Â鶹´«Ã½ (last degree). If you are within 12 years of your graduation from Â鶹´«Ã½, please consider applying:
