It was a total honor to intern with TowneBank over the Summer of 2020. I had the opportunity to intern under a senior executive with TowneBank who I was able to meet through a networking opportunity provided by one of my professors at Â鶹´«Ã½. My responsibilities were assisting him in the details of managing and extending commercial real estate loans to developers and investors throughout Southeast Virginia. I was able to apply almost every single one of my business courses during my internship with Towne: Accounting, Corporate Finance, Real Estate Finance, and Intermediate Macroeconomics. COVID-19 delayed the start of my internship by a few weeks, but I believe my boss made the internship happen for me due to the relationship we built prior to discussing any internship.

This coming fall semester, I am looking forward to starting courses in my new minor: civil engineering technology, where I will be studying the in's and the outs of development projects (real estate finance & economics major). My longtime girlfriend will also be transferring in from Tidewater Community College (I also transferred in through the TCC to Â鶹´«Ã½ program) and I am very excited that she will get to experience the wonderful opportunities, connections, and education provided by Old Dominion.

Thank you, Â鶹´«Ã½, and specifically Dr. Tanner for all that you do for the students of the Strome College of Business.
