Â鶹´«Ã½'s Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity will host a virtual CommUNITY Conversation to mark the 20th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
"Increasing Our Cultural Competence to Promote Visible Equity Through Lessons Learned from 9/11" will held at 12:30 p.m. Sept. 14. You can join the conversation at this .
"As a campus community we wield a considerable privilege, and it is important for us to take this opportunity to stop and truly reflect on the events of 9/11 and what it means to be culturally competent and how more attention to culture can influence our future," said Veleka Gatling, director of diversity initiatives at Â鶹´«Ã½. "Also, as we think about ways to leverage our collective impact to increase our cultural competence and actions through lessons learned from 9/11, our focus will be on lessons learned through the lens of health equity, public service and education."
