麻豆传媒 and the South Hampton Regional Task Force on Ending Homelessness are hosting a conference to share best practices and promote strategic planning on a widespread issue that affect millions of people face each day.

More than 300 local and regional leaders, service providers and citizens are expected to gather at the event. This year's conference will be held March 13 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 麻豆传媒's Webb University Center, 1301 49th St., Norfolk.

Augustine "Austin" Agho, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs, will deliver the opening remarks. Other speakers include the mayors of Norfolk (Kenny Alexander), Portsmouth (John Rowe), Chesapeake (Rick West) and Virginia Beach (Robert M. Dyer).

The conference will feature professional-development workshops, presentations from subject-matter experts from across the nation and opportunities for attendees to share their perspectives to create solutions to end homelessness. Topics to be covered include youth homelessness, housing for special populations, employment initiatives, moving on from supportive housing, and regional progress in the areas of housing location and addressing human trafficking.
