It is official: Âé¶¹´«Ã½'s ALA Student Chapter is (ALA). Âé¶¹´«Ã½'s chapter becomes the 67th ALA student chapter and the first student chapter formed in Virginia.
ALA student chapters provide educational, social enrichment, professional development and service opportunities on a local and national level. ALA supports student chapter membership by providing leadership and programming opportunities on each campus. Each student chapter is eligible to send one participant to the Student-to-Staff program held at the ALA Annual Conference where they receive free conference registration, housing, and a per diem for meal expenses.
Âé¶¹´«Ã½'s ALA Student Chapter officers include Lisa Gay-Millken (President), Leah Melton (Vice-President) and Laura Shifflett (Secretary). Dr. Amelia Anderson serves as the faculty advisor.
