About this Program

The Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education equips pre-service teachers with research-based knowledge, skills, abilities and dispositions to engage in socially just teaching practices. Through development of interdisciplinary practices and assessment literacy, with a focus on critical thinking, our pre-service teachers will be equipped to make significant impacts on learning in tomorrow’s elementary classrooms. The diverse needs of PK-6 students, systemic influences on student performance, and ethical considerations are embedded throughout the curriculum.

Requirements

What are the requirements to apply for Elementary Education at 鶹ý?
Students entering the Bachelor of Science program in Elementary Education should meet the minimum university admission requirements Undergraduate Admission.

For admission to an undergraduate teacher education program, a student must have an overall GPA of 2.75 and “C-“ or better in required courses, or an overall GPA of 2.80 and “C” or better in the BSED program.
