Excite the Dream Â鶹´«Ã½ is a program designed for underrepresented scholars with a dream of pursuing a career in academia. This program provides an opportunity for underrepresented scholars to gain more insight into the professoriate by inviting them to participate in a virtual one-day experience designed to cultivate skills in teaching, research, and service. Scholars will have the opportunity to:
- Learn about Â鶹´«Ã½
- Present their research
- Receive scholarly advice from our award-winning faculty
- Meet with Leadership

Note: An invitation to participate in Excite the Dream does not guarantee an offer of employment at Â鶹´«Ã½. Similarly, not being selected for Excite the Dream has no bearing on future employment opportunities with the university.

Program Highlights
How do I qualify?
- Be completing a terminal degree by September 2025.
- Be a member of an underrepresented population.
- Have an interest in academia.
- Submit a completed application by January 1, 2025, including a cover letter, research statement, teaching philosophy and statement of interest.
Selected qualified candidates will participate in a program designed to excite their dream of becoming a scholar in academia.
