The Department of Counseling and Human Services is sponsoring the visit of Dr. Jennifer Stuart-Dixon, a psychotherapist and lecturer at the University of West Indies. She will speak with students and faculty at Â鶹´«Ã½. In collaboration with Department of Nursing and the Center for Global Health, Dr. Stuart-Dixon will present two formal talks. On September 9th at noon she will speak at our Virginia Beach site on Adolescent Sexual Health and on September 10th at 10am she will speak in the Center for Global Health on Experiences in Global Health which highlights her work with the Wold Health Organization and USAID. In addition, Dr. Stuart-Dixon will conduct two round table discussions with Counseling and Human Services students.

Dr. Jennifer Stuart-Dixon is an independent consultant working in the field of public health for the past 15 years with an emphasis on HIV prevention, behavior change and adolescent sexual health. Instrumental in policy analysis, monitoring and evaluation, program development and implementation, and qualitative health research, Dr. Stuart-Dixon has worked for several international donor agencies providing technical assistance in Jamaica as well as countries in the wider Caribbean and South and Central America. She is a member of the World Health Organization HIV Testing Services Guidelines Development Group since 2015.
